What do you do with the smallest hotel room in Vegas? A room too small for two people to perform yoga in? If you’re the Golden Gate Hotel & Casino, you lean into its preposterousness with a marketing campaign.
The downtown Las Vegas property recently spotlighted its tiniest accommodation via an Instagram Reel, claiming that while it might be a tight fit, the room boasts “the biggest charm.”
“Room for 1 at #GoldenGateVegas?” asked the copy accompanying a brief video tour (the only kind possible) of the accommodations.
According to the post, the room features a “cozy twin bed tucked away on our historic original floor.”
While it may not be a good choice for travelers who pack three suitcases and a collection of “just in case” shoes, it appears to offer exactly what it promises: a simple place to stay with a bit of old Vegas character.
In an era when hotels often compete over oversized rooms, luxury amenities and sky-high square footage, there’s something refreshing about a casino entirely self-aware of its vintage limitations. Established in 1906 — only a year after Las Vegas was — the Golden Gate was its very first hotel. It even had the town’s very first telephone. Its number? 1.)
Don’t worry, though. This room isn’t assigned randomly to guests responding to promotional deals. According to the Instagram post, it’s “only available upon special request.”
